Empowering Youth

Genuine Intelligent Respectful Ladies Soaring (GIRLS), Inc. is a 501(c)(3) holistic program that began in 2007. GIRLS is designed to encourage youth in grades six through twelve to pursue avenues that promote healthy habits and wise decisions. The program focus is on students’ academic, career, socioemotional, and civic leadership development. GIRLS provides an avenue for youth to receive comprehensive services that improve their personal, academic, socioemotional, and career success. Program youth strive to become well-rounded, productive, and high achieving individuals with aspirations to further their education and economic advancement.

The mission of GIRLS is to promote the overall disposition/persona of young adults in order to enhance their capacity to become successful individuals who have the tools to accomplish what they will in life. It is our hope that each participant will possess the knowledge, skills and self-confidence to contribute to diverse communities and consider college a viable option. Youth develop the skills to actively participate in diverse cultures and contribute to global communities.
